As a kid we all grow up with dreams , dreams no less than a fairy tale with a beautiful princess and a happily ever after . For some its exactly as in the book .

Ishaan was just another ordinary kid with a pretty dream . He grew up in the mountains ,with the butterflies and the clouds .(Rest left to the readers imagination ).

Nivedita was not just another ordinary kid . She was a princess who grew in ............. well obviously the capital of a big empire .(Rest left to the readers imagination ) .

This story is not about their childhood . Lets just say its a summer day in their mid life or so .

The summer has been hot and humid lately . Inspite of the weather forecasts ,earth was yet to be blessed with showers of love . But that day it was different , the dark clouds had taken over the city and a refreshingly cool breeze was blowing . Science has made life so boring that you seldom need to pull down the curtains and see what's going on outside .But then nature has its own ways to seek attention .The rumbling of the clouds were so loud and clear , as if they were angry with some one .

Ishaan stood by the window of his office looking up at the clouds . They still remembered him , and every now and then were there to keep an eye on his well being . Only that he had been too busy in his little insignificant life that he couldn't find time to look up to them .Some times we are so lost in our lives that we don't want to change a thing about it , and that changes everything . His hands had opened the windows by then , and he could feel the breeze rushing to hug its good old childhood friend .

Nivedita too must have been looking up to them from her office . How the hell do I know what she's thinking .The only thing I know is that she liked dancing in the rain . That's what they did together ...... ummmm sometimes .

As the dark clouds embraced the city into its arm ,and the cold breeze swept it off its feet ; Nivedita crossed his mind . Memories started to pour . Memories that had been burried under several layers of dust and sand . Surprisingly there had been no recent memories that made his lips smile .

He packed his stuff and left for home . There are somethings in life that matter more , and work is not one of them .They say that when you call some one with all the love in your heart , they feel it no matter how much the distance . So he left a message with the cold breeze to be delivered to her that he would be waiting for her , to get drenched in love all over again .He believed that she would come and belief is what makes things happen ,don't they .

He reached home and realized what a mess his house has been lately . He arranged his house , made his bed , and the food and arranged for the right kind of music she liked to dance to . All this had been done so easily , the toughest part was yet to come - wait for her to come over .

He had been on the roof top for quite some time and the clouds seemed too heavy to hold the rain long enough .The wind also seemed tired of playing so hard against the buildings .He closed his eyes and said , " Don't make me wait , just because you know I would ". Heat was oozing out from the earth and the clouds could hold no longer . Droplets of rain started falling to quench its thirst . He could feel the fragrance that rose into the atmosphere , it was as exotic and mesmerising as her's .

He was drenched in love , still with a hope that the clouds would hold on until she arrived . Soon enough he heard foot steps climbing up the stairs . A few moments later there she was with a smile on her lovely face . It has been a long time since he had made her wear that smile . There are times in your life when words can not speak for you , but silence can . Let everything but the tongue do the talking .

He was standing at twenty three steps from her .Twenty three signifies that he remembered her birthday and that in a world where primes were not meant to be together , actually they did . Never in his life had he been more jealous of the rain before , maybe because it smelled her hair , rolled down her cheeks , kissed her lips , held her hand and made her wet while he waited . But it was okay as she did not care about anything else and she was coming for him .

As he held her cheeks in his hand he could see the rainbows across the droplet of water that clung to her nose .It was then only when he realized that his life would rather have been b/w lest for the colors that she brought into his life .He looked into those dark eyes and made a promise that in this life and the next she was the only one that he wanted and then the silence was broken with a kiss .Whoever said that water is the elixir of life must have had it on a woman's lips .

With the clap of a hand , music started to play and they danced into each others arms until it was dark . The clouds were gone in search of more thirsty lands and so was she . He stood alone on the edge with the twinkling stars .

It has been four years since he called her .She recognized his voice ; he could have died of happiness , but he didn't . A few moments later he heard a voice and she had to go , it was bed time . She asked ," Do you still ............. " .And he hung up the phone . He could have died with grief , but he didn't . He still walks the land under the dark sky as an illusion to the living and the dead ............................................................ alike .

Of all the sad words of pen and tongue , the saddest are these ," It might have been .................. ".

For some its exactly as in the book .but for some its not . If only life were a fairy tale ................. luckily for some its a nightmare .

The Smoke .

Disclaimer – Total pathetic stuff .Read at your own risk, and that too only when you need something to kill time.

It’s been ten years since they have met. Everyone has been so busy in their own life that nobody found time for old friends’ .But at some point you realize what’s life without them? Badal was having similar thoughts when he entered the gates of his home. He noticed that the window panes were broken and everything around was a mess. Vasu (his wife) must be really upset about something. She was in a habit of destroying things when upset. He rushed the stairs up, the gates were open.

When he entered the room he was awestruck.

Aakash had entwined his wife like a creeper. His right hand resting inches below her waist and the fingers of his left hand stretching itself to feel for her heart .She had her arms around his neck. His eyes were wide open and he was having a good time, besides uttering a few words from his watering mouth.

In the reflections of the broken mirror he saw Vasu’s face. Her eyes were red and her cheeks black with the kohl flowing down with tears. So much for laying a finger on his wife he could have killed any man, but Aakash was still alive because she had granted him the liberty to live. Something must have been terribly wrong and she must be having her reasons for everything. But for now he needed a glass of cold water to quench the burning rage in him. He walks towards the kitchen and gets lucky to find a bottle of water, 3 glasses and a few ice cubes left .The rest of it were all broken and messed up. He assumed that burglars might have broken into their house and that pretty much explained the situation.

He walks up to them and says have some water guys, it’s no use crying over spilt milk. It seems like we had some burglars yesterday, but nothing to worry everything’s insured. Stop whining like a child Vasu, we shall renovate the house .All the stuff were quite old, it’s good that they are gone. May be someone needed them more than us.

She turns around and slaps him hard in the face. Ok so we shall call the police, looks like he took your mother’s jewellery as well. Don’t worry we will get it back.

Vasu started shouting at him, with tears helplessly rolling down her cheeks. Don’t act so naïve Badal, I know everything now, I know what you did last night. Tell me Badal, what’s with that bitch that you couldn’t forget her. All this reunion drama, this friend get together thing, all this you planned only to hook up back to her. Tell me you dog, was one night with the bitch worth losing all of it. I trusted you with my life and I loved you with all my heart, why did you do this to me? How could you do this to me? Tell me is she any good, is she better than me? Tell me you pig, I need to know. Why did you break my heart and shatter my trust. You make me feel like a complete idiot and stupid.

He was clueless about which bitch she was talking about .She was weeping her guts out and he knew nobody could stop her except herself, so it was no point arguing with her, which would only add fuel to fire. Fire! Ah that reminded him of something .He turns to Aakash,” You got a cigarette “.

Thy crying got louder. Damn theoretically smoke could cut out fire, but practically it proved wrong.

She again held on to Aakash and chose his shoulders to weep on. DO you remember Aakash; the day he proposed; he promised that he would never break my heart and would never smoke my eyes from truth because trust develops from it. Overnight he has broken both his promises .Oh my God! I have been fooled, I married a man who cheats on me every possible night and even smokes a fag before my eyes.

“What about the other half of the promise? “, Badal protested.

This was getting worse, she was entering a rage .He better get his ass out of there soon or he was going to get kicked real bad. Maybe he could come back later when she could actually think and talk.

He slowly headed for the door .On seeing this, she rushed to her room and came back with a gun .Hold your steps, you son of a bitch, I am not yet finished with you .Today is the Judgement day, I need to know everything.

This isn’t happening for real, is it? Badal asked.

Yes it is .If you can break my heart, I can break your skull too.

You talk about trust .Let me tell you what trust is? Look into my eyes and tell me if last night I did anything meant to offend you. How could a few words spoken by someone sentence the trust developed in so many years to death. Trust in yourself first, only then you would come to trust in me .And if you couldn’t then go ahead and shoot me.

Shoot me between my eyes and if a few moments later, I stand before St. Peters and even if he says that you shot me, I wouldn’t believe him. I would ask him,” Tell me Lord what’s in it for her? Why would she shoot the man she so dearly loves” .It was the anger that took over her and pulled the trigger and I know that she would avenge my death and kill that anger too.

I know you are good with words, but I will not be fooled again. Let me see you speak to him that way .I shall follow you there .And she started pulling the trigger. One, Two, Three, Four, Five . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . Nobody spoke .There was silence in the room for moments. Then Badal spoke.” Holy Shit! You bitch, you actually fired at me. May God bless the one who emptied the magazine or else I would have been with him by now.

You know what Varsha is a million times better than you .At least she would never fire at me .She has always loved me, she still loves me .But no , I wouldn’t love her because I was madly in love with you , and how stupid I was to think that you too loved me back and maybe more than her. And that’s why I assumed we got married , because we were meant to be together .But you know what only if I could turn back times I would have married her . She is better than you at everything, and I mean everything.

Vasu started crying all over again .You see now he admits it .He admits that she is the bitch I was talking about all the time .He has been cheating on me .Oh my God! Why did I live long enough to see this day .Take me with you lord, I don’t want to live any more. That bitch Varsha is better than me at everything, why didn’t you make me good enough.

Badal held his head in his hands .Women they only understand what they want to and nobody can change their opinion, no matter how hard one may try.

After a while, the room was filled with laughter .Both Badal and Vasu raised their heads to see Aakash and Varsha standing together with the rest of the class that has gathered for the reunion.

What’s going on? Both Badal and Vasu asked unanimously.

Vasu, I got over your husband a long time back, and since last year when Aakash proposed we are happily married. I have finally met my man .You guys were like legends so we only meant to see if the spark still existed between you or is it that the only thing that’s left between you is smoke.

We are happy to see that you guys are still madly in love with each other; ready to kill and die, right.

Ok, so all this just for a bet, huh! .My house is a mess and I almost got shot. But I guess the fun you guys had was worth it. Now the party is on only if you guys clean up the mess .Me and Vasu are going on for a drive and by the time we come back better get my house look good or else the guns would be loaded this time.

Sorry dude for the mess. I never knew she had a knack for search and destroy things. She literally broke everything you might have ever touched, except for the gun which I emptied and you should thank me for that.

Oh ya! Thank you for everything .Thank you for the lesson you taught me. I will never ever have a second reunion planned again. One more for the lessons you taught me let me repay with two teachings ; One – Never play a prank on me ;Two – Never lay a finger on my wife ever .

The tryst

One night I just woke with an awkward look on my face. I looked around to find myself in a large room with exquisite paintings from the medieval age all around .The walls were filled with swords and shields of gold and the chandeliers and lamps in the room were of diamonds and pearls. My bed was made of Sandal wood that dispersed sweet fragrance in the room. The moonlight pouring into the room was nothing like I have ever seen. It shone so bright that I almost mistook it to be day. I walked across the room to look into the mirror. And to my surprise I was all dressed in silk, satin and velvet like a prince with amazing long hairs.

I looked out of the window and I could see miles .It appeared to me that I was in a castle like place on some peak. I found my way out of the hall into the gardens which had all kinds of marvelous flowers extending beyond my eyes could see. Oh! What a dream I am having.

Just when I was tired wandering and exploring around the palace, I saw a man peacefully sitting near a peach tree on the other end of the cliff. I couldn’t overcome my curiosity and I headed towards him. He greeted me when I was still a few paces behind him .How do you know my name. Where am I and what am I doing here and who are you?

Relax kid it’s nothing new; you ask the same question every year .Every year? What do you mean by that? He smiled at me and then asked me to walk him down the hill. You are just the same kid I have been so fond of. And as I do every year I will tell you everything all over again for you to forget next year. Every thing about this place and you is freaking me out .I bit my hand just to confirm if I was dreaming and ouch it did hurt.

I am Gabriel. Oh my God am I dead and is this heaven .How could you do this to me, I haven’t lived enough yet .Oof! No you aren’t dead and I am not an angel .I am just a magician and I have you here to spend some time with you and off course tell you a story too . The story I am about to tell you is one of the greatest love stories in history of all times and yet no one knows about it. And why should that be? It was Andrews’s last wish to be that way. Who is Andrew now? How am I associated with all this? Just send me back; I have a class to attend to. I know how much attentive you are, don’t give me that ****, just be calm and listen carefully .I intend you no harm and stories are always fun.

So can you tell me the story please?

Once upon a time there were two kingdoms Adrastea and Amalthea on the two banks of the river Sabrina. Nobody knows since when they have been fiercest of enemies and for what reasons. It has just been carried in their blood lines for ever and ever. Andrew was the prince of Adrastea and Carolina was the pristinely beautiful princess of Amalthea. What about Andrew, wasn’t he handsome? Well I leave that up to you to decide later. It was prophesized by my father that they were meant to be together, so I had to find a way. I being the secret ally of both the states convinced them to have their kids study at my Paideia. Both were four years old when I brought them here.

Ok so this is the great story that you were talking about .Indeed it is a new plot that kids at four fall in love and no wonder why it isn’t in history .So now if you are done with it can I go back to my own ways.

If you insist I can send you back but then you will never know what happened to them and why you are here. Moreover my spell will only last until the first rays of the sun falls on the castle and then you are gone .So if you waste another minute you may miss something that won’t let you sleep for another year.

I hope you can speed up a little and maybe we can finish it fast. Ok so let me start from the end and then maybe you will remember the rest all by itself.

It’s a well known fast that the fragrance of love cannot be hidden and it spreads on its own. So finally the word of Andrew and Carolina’s love reached both the courts .Both the kings were so enraged that they declared their children to be slayed and set an example. I hid both of them with magic until they decided it was time they talked to their parents .So for the first time since ages both the kings gathered together to put an end to a life which they had nurtured with their own blood.

Holding hands together they entered the court, fearless and unstrained. The whole court held their breath and wished them to be spared .They bowed to their parents and begged for a few moments to let their heart out before the thread of their lives were snapped.

We understand the severity of our blunder and we are not here to seek forgiveness as we are not sorry for what we are accused of. But then there are a lot of other reasons we would like to be forgiven for.

We are sorry beyond words to have pained your hearts. Never in my life have I intended to do something which would not please you. When I opened my eyes for the first time, I wasn’t crying because this was the place in the entire world I wanted to be in. All my childhood I never cried because I just couldn’t withstand desperate looks on your faces. In all my life I have never intentionally disobeyed you, and if ever I did, you had always forgiven me without me pleading for it. So what suddenly made the difference? Had it for any other girl, wouldn’t you have blessed us with all the happiness in the world. Look into her eyes and tell me if you see anything except love for me and you. How could your heart grow so cold to nurture hatred for an innocent girl who loves your son and his family more than her life?

God was skeptical, but we choose you as our parents because we had faith in your unconditional loving heart. If a ray of light could defeat legions of darkness, how could love be defeated at the hands of hatred? If we were conceived out of love how could we have inculcated hatred in us?

You have always bestowed happiness in our life without us asking for it. So now what makes you deny us eternal happiness .Why in the world did the happiness of your enemies become more important to you than your own children’s? How could you care more for your enemy than your son?

True that we owe our life to you; you have all the right in the world to deny us life. We would be more than honored to lay it down if it pleases you. But then have you ever thought what were we born for? Don’t you realize that the only reason we were born was for each other .Somewhere in our heart we knew that you would understand us and stand by our side when se needed you the most. We don’t say that you have failed us .You must be having your own reasons for doing so, it’s just that we don’t understand. We know that our parents would never be wrong and how much it would have hurt them to pass the judgment against us. So respecting your judgment we lay down our lives and plead to be forgiven for our naïve thoughts.

There is just one last request that we have. Don’t let anyone know our fate or else love would loose its meaning and light would be afraid of the dark. Oceans of blood would conquer the world just because son’s and daughter’s would be slaughtered by their parents for the naïve reason that they hate their enemies more than loving their child.

With this last wish they sealed their tryst with a kiss and be gone they were to a different dimension, a world of two where they won’t be bounded by obligations and responsibilities .A place they can call their own and live their way.

How did they die? Ah! On their request I had given them a potion of death wish because they wanted to end their lives their way if necessity arose. I never thought they would use it but they did.

I feel sorry for them all, the hero, the heroine and their parents. Poor folks, maybe they would have changed their minds, but that stupid fellow never gave them a chance and poor heroine she did not even have enough dialogues to deliver. Don’t be, for their purpose was fulfilled .They had restored everything that mattered.

So can I go now .I am kinda sleepy. Damn I am a bad story teller, couldn’t make you believe it was you.

Maybe if you see Carolina, you would remember everything .She awaits you in the same room you awoke. I brought her from the same dimensions you belong to. And I guess you have met her before a few times in this life of yours. The sunrise is few moments away, run and you can make it.

“Happy b’day Andrew, see you next year “, I heard him say as I ran towards the palace. I did not believe in reincarnation the first time I was here. But as I saw her standing by the window, my heart beat was racing like a Ferrari. What if she is not the one I am so uncontrollably in love with? And what if she is the one? In all my perplexity, I suddenly noticed that her silhouette was exactly like her’s and in all my anxiousness; I called out a name (the one I use back on earth). As she turned to look at me, I was blinded by the first rays of the sun and I woke up sweating and panting . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . .

The Pursuit Of Happiness -The Eclipse .

Total Solar Eclipse of 22 July 2009

5:20 AM .I was at the Regional Science Centre, Bhopal and no prize for guessing that I found her. Clad in a black &white striped top, blue jeans and a black jacket with hairs fluttering in the air and those cute little earrings; I couldn’t help but be mesmerized at the sight so much that I did not notice when she ended up her conversation with the professor and was standing before me awaiting an answer.

Was it you whom I saw yesterday? Do you live in the city? What brings you here? Are you with expecting someone? Whom are the flowers for?

Oh! I thought females had a bad memory recognizing men but it seems I have been wrong all those years. I don’t know about you, but I definitely saw you yesterday. Moreover, I don’t live in the city, I just came for the eclipse .I am not expecting anybody now and these flowers are for someone I like so you can have these flowers if you like happen to like them. I guess I answered all your questions. Now I suppose you wouldn’t mind answering mine.

You definitely are not from this city. So what brings you here? What do you do for a living and if you have an uncle in the city, why isn’t he around?

Yeah. I am not from the city .I came here for a short vacation .I am a Criminal Psychology student and it’s I who am interested in the eclipse, so I came all by me. By any chance, are you stalking me?

Don’t worry, a wise woman once told me that you shouldn’t desire what you don’t deserve although you can admire them .And I being insanely perfect for anyone to deserve, totally defines me being single. So there isn’t a chance of stalking you as I prefer being a bachelor than a master (or you can call it as slave).

So given the weather, how do you suppose you would see the eclipse?

I guess I am not that lucky today .Maybe next time. What about you?

I don’t give up that easily .I believe I would see what I came for. So if you really want to see the eclipse then you can come with me lest you have no problem trusting people at least one’s like me. So are you coming or not ?

Where do you suppose to see the eclipse and if you insist then I can come. Let’s see if your faith can at least move clouds if not mountains.

Clouds won’t be everywhere, so we can drive along the central eclipse path .Sanchi and Vidisha happens to be in it. Sanchi is an isolated divine hill some 50 kilometers away and as far as I have known hills, they don’t disappoint anyone. If it does and we still have enough time, we can go up to Vidisha. Even if your bad luck over rides mine, it would be a good morning drive and you can enjoy the caves there. So if that sounds ok then we can go get a ride.

Lucky enough I did not have to call the autowala from yesterday as she had a car, which she drove fast. It was about 45-50 kilometers away and I feared that the journey would end rather soon.

We talked little as she drove because she concentrated on the roads and I lost myself in the clouds somewhere.

Sometimes later, she broke the silence. What is that thing in your hand? Ah, it’s an equipment I was taught at school to know how much solar eclipse we have missed.

Just then, I noticed a little toy tiger on the dashboard and asked if it were her’s. She replied that it was her beloved tigress toy, which someone has made for her.

We luckily found a very beautiful place amongst the woods, which had a clear sky. We had missed quite a lot of the eclipse but totality was still a few minutes away.

Aren’t you scared of this lonely place or me? No, I like them both. What are your opinions on flattery? Does it work on you? Not until you tell me something that, I don’t know and you haven’t said before. So would you be flattered if I say that you look more beautiful than the eclipse. I know that for sure. People can miss the sight of the sun but not me .Look at you, aren’t you looking less at the eclipse and more at me?

Ok then let me think for a moment .The totality had just begun and I just a couple of minutes were left before the most spectacular sight of the century.

Have I ever told you that I am in love with you? I guess not so let me now. I held out the flowers and started pouring out words from my heart.

Ever since I first met you, I felt something missing in me. It did not take me much time to know what was missing because instead of my heartbeat it was always your name .There wasn’t a single instance when my eyes did not perceive you in everything it saw. All the bits in my memory have your image and a question as how to find you ever since the day we first met. All my wishes and prayers have been to see you again and tell you how I felt because without it my spirits wouldn’t rest in peace. I have been searching for you these entire days and you have no idea how I finally found you.

I could only get you flowers from the city, as I couldn’t find a ring better than the one in the sky, as I do not have friends or family in the city so I sent invitations to Mercury, Venus, Mars (from our solar system) and Procyon, Sirius and Rigel (stars) to witness the moment .I couldn’t find a better place than Sanchi, so I brought you here.

You just have 30 seconds to wear the ring or else it will be gone forever and so would the honorable dignitaries I have summoned. I lifted her hand towards the sky and the ring did seem to fit best into her lovely fingers.

She kept staring at the ring and those heavenly bodies until they bid adieu as the moon parted ways with the sun.

She looked stunned for some time. That was flattering, you are good at it aren’t you. So what favor do you expect in return?

Now that I have succeeded in flattering you, .You must show me around, as I leave not before night.

Do not take my words seriously .They were just meant to make this eclipse memorable .We came all this way long and so I just wanted to make it a point for you to laugh at with your friends. The eclipse would be boring to them but not this story if you tell them.

Life seems to be a joke for you right. Why does life have all the pleasure laughing at us .Sometimes we should laugh back too, isn’t it.

We stayed in the woods for a while and then got back to the wheels. We visited a few caves ,rode back to the city had lunch ,got on a steamer boat ,caught a movie in the evening ( Harry Potter And The Half Blood Prince – I haven’t seen any of its earlier episodes ,but who was interested in the movie anyways ).

Then finally, I was at the station not sure, if I should stay one more day. I decided to leave as there is always a next time. However, then something stopped me from boarding the train and I returned to where she was standing.

I opened my bag and I held out a tiger for her .My tiger refuses to go with me .He says he is in love with your tigress .Can you keep him along with her.

That’s it .That’s why you came back .I thought you wanted my number or something.

It’s very less likely that you would like to see me again and if you gave your number, that would be correct. Moreover, when I desperately need to see you again I will find you as I found you this time. Let me see if you remember me then. Thanks for the wonderful day. I wouldn’t forget anything about it.

Then my train left . . . . . . . with her waving at me .

The Pursuit Of Happiness - Judgement Day.

The journey continues from where I left . . . . .

4:30 PM. He was 1069 kilometers away from home into the city of lakes with a quest to find an oyster with the loveliest pearl. He had about six hours of leisure at hand .So he walks out of the station, gets himself a hotel room, freshens up and walks into to city to spend time, which somehow seemed to tick slower than ever. He walks through three multiplexes without getting one single ticket .His good luck seemed to be saving itself for the better moments. He sits besides the lake trying to be William Wordsworth jotting down something on nature’s beauty but alas! He is so very bad with poetry.

He was there on the station at 10:30 PM but the train being late by an hour. That was not a long wait. Anyways-good things in life are worth waiting for .If watching time pieces twice every second could accelerate time, then we would now have been in the 41^st century .Finally the train arrives at around 11:45 PM. He was very blank about his actions once he found her and hence I suppose his worries were listened to, as there wasn’t any sign of her. He has looked everywhere without missing a spot. He has even looked all over the parking lot for potential relatives and friends but then couldn’t spot any.

So the next train arrives in the morning. Everything happens for the greater good. Had she chosen this train then he would have had a tough time tracking her in the dark. At least if she arrived in the morning then he would have ease in knowing her whereabouts. He had only a few hours of sleep left so he rushes back to the hotel without losing his heart .He knew a big day was coming tomorrow.

Its 6:00 AM and again there isn’t a sign of her .He was damn sure that if she would be around him he could feel her .His intuitions wouldn’t abandon him when he needed them most. Now his only hope was the last train at 1:50 PM.

That left him roughly six hours before the last train arrived and he couldn’t just stay there waiting for the train to come; he had to do something. A plan hit him and he walks out of the station and looks around for a fool kinda auto driver and he finally finds one .But then looks are always deceptive and he must be very careful.

He asks him to take him to the DM’s office and on the way; he inquires about his name, driving experience in Bhopal and his familiarity about the city. He had found the right guy. The auto wala asks his purpose in the city and after a little build up he finally speaks,“ Kal suryagrahaan hai pata hai na aur 15 August aane wala hai to sambhaal ke gaaddi chalana yaha kuch bhi ho sakta hai ;Main Milan Singh – special task force Anti terrorist squad , Suryagrahan tak mera kaam hai yaha. Ab kuch samajh aaya .” . Then he plays some music on his phone and acts as if talking to some one.

He asks the auto wala to stop and inquires how much does he earn a day .He replies 600-700 /day .He says 1000 dunga aur petrol bhi mere upar par aaj din bhar jaha jane ko kahunga chalna padega .After hesitating for a few minutes he finally agrees. “Accha sun kisi petrol pump per rok aur kisi dhabe pe le ke chaal bhookh lagi hai “, says he. They sit together in a hotel and talk over the food and he gathers, as much information as he thought would be relevant enough. Then they both leave on a routine checkup of various hotels in the city just in case she came before and stayed in one of them.

He returns for the 1:50 PM train but that train did not bring what he hoped to see. He sits down in the auto outside and calculates the possibilities and probabilities. The rest of the day was spend in visiting all public places in the city including malls, open grounds and the museum and every other place he thought he could find her tomorrow.

Its 09:00 PM now and his hopes look a lot faded than a day ago. He looks up the sky and contemplates if he had done everything he could or not .If he had then all the hard work must bear fruits but still the tree was out of sight. He needed replenishments so he enters “Babu Ki Kutia “on Sultania road, the auto wala suggested him the restaurant.

Just when he walks out of the restaurant, a Mercedes C230 kompressor pulls over and for the love of cars, he could not help but look at it. It was kinda new but looked dusty and there was a sticker on its window” Science Centre Gwalior”. Just when he was busy, scanning the car; the window drops down and he couldn’t blink for the next 90 seconds or so. He had finally found the precious oyster that hid the pearl .As the car pulls away their eyes finally meet and from the smile that she displayed he would take it as a 1 % chance that he still occupied a few faded bits in her head.

Now that she was in the city; tomorrow he would definitely meet her .All he had to do was get his hands on the net and gather information as to where to find her tomorrow. Lucky enough he finds a café that was just closing and for Rs 50 /15 mins he agreed .And there was a smile on his face for he knew exactly where she would be tomorrow. Hard work does always bear fruit.

So are his intuitions right this time? Will he find her tomorrow? What’s he gonna say? And what’s so special about the eclipse?

580 days, 13,920 hours, 835,200 minutes and 50,112,000 seconds. Although I am good at calculations but still I couldn’t count the number of times he missed her. What I did count were the moments he forgot her and it turns out to be the only natural number that isn’t positive. How much did he wish to see her again that he asked God to grant a few moments with her as his 23 b’day gift? Of all the days that he has been looking for her on every social networking site, he found her on one of them on 17^thJuly (damn all those special characters that she uses in everything she writes). Still what a sweet innocent profile she possesses. It has everything anyone would like to know about her. She has found enough time to search communities for everything she likes and hates. She has joined over a 100 communities, which can tell you more than her mother might know(She even has a community joined called “I cannot sleep without pillows “).

The status message of her profile read,” Off to Bhopal to witness the most spectacular celestial display of the century “. What more could he want .He was shown the destination, it was totally on him to find his way, and I am sure he would definitely succeed because that’s what he does best - believe in himself .

He garners his basic instincts and finally finds out that the probability of solving the problem = unity (100%). It’s just a boy going to a city to find a girl in a day –simple math. If the moon can do the impossible i.e carve out a diamond ring from someone a million times mightier just to show Earth how much it loves her ,why can’t he do something as trivial as finding someone.

The following are the assumptions he thought would be enough to find her.

1. On 22 July, 5:30 AM she would definitely be in Bhopal viewing the Eclipse.

2. So she would probably reach there on 21^st July.

3. Since it read, “Off to Bhopal”, it means that she would be coming there by any of the three means v.i.z air, road or train.

4. The pin number in her profile corresponds to some city within 60 miles of Kanpur, which doesn’t have an airport or a railway station which has a direct train to Bhopal. Therefore, in all means she has to come to Kanpur.

5. There isn’t a direct flight from Kanpur to Bhopal. Therefore, she would most likely be boarding a train from Kanpur central on 20^th July.

6. Of all the six trains from Kanpur to Bhopal the arrival and departure times are as follows:-

9. If she takes train no 5 then she would be there on the 20^th at 10:25 PM, else if she takes train no 3 and 4 then she would be there on 21^st .

10. The best way to meet her would be to intersect her at the railway station before she goes elsewhere. If he couldn’t find her there then it would be difficult to find her once she disappears into the city. Moreover, the eclipse lasting less than seven minutes she could be anywhere out of his bounds.

11. The only time she would definitely be under the sky would be during the Eclipse. So either he would find her out on the station or during those seven minutes.

Therefore, determined to see her again, he has done all his packing and he would be leaving in due time to be there when the fifth train arrives at 10:25 PM.

What do you people say? Would he see her? Or would he not? Can you imagine how glad he would be once he saw her? Or how sad he would be when he returned empty eyes?

Sometimes in our lives, we meet someone that we just cannot forget, no matter how hard we try. Their memories haunt us all day and night. Moreover, sometimes how much we wish we had never met them, but then we also thank God that we did .One memory is worth living with, a lifetime than without it. This is one of the journeys of a lifetime.

Boy: - Hi, I am Raj (a short pause) Neeraj Raj. (This style somehow seems to have become iconic since the introduction in 007 movies by the legendary Sean Connery .And the speaker is a die hard fan of those movies.)

Girl: - She gives a damn look. As if, she did not hear. (Actually, she had plugged in the earphones and was lost in some memories of the past, which the boy couldn’t notice. . . . He is such a l*s*r).

Boy: - (The boy speaks again with less enthusiasm). Being your next seat neighbor, I just tried to introduce myself so that the three-hour journey would be easier for both of us, but as it seems your mother has warned you not to talk to strangers, so I would hereafter refrain myself from speaking a word unless I see some enthusiasm from you.

Girl:-I am sorry .I was just listening to some music. By the way, hi I am Gauri.(From the next time she would be addressed by her name).

Boy: - You are the third girl I ever know with that name. What it is with parents that inspire them to name their kids in all the Gods name .Aren’t there enough names in this world to choose from?

Gauri: - Actually, I truly appreciate that my parents named me like this. You know these names are far better than others are.

Boy: - Could you enlighten me more?

Gauri: - Look with a Goddess name attached; you grow up as a child with a lot more self-confidence and discipline.Self-confidence in the way that you easily believe that being a

Goddess you can do anything, and discipline because you are taught that Gods aren’t undisciplined, so how can you be one.

Boy:-That’s why I think I grew up the way I am, how better could I have been if I was named Ram or Shiva?

Gauri:-That’s not my point. It’s just that I see it that way.

Boy:-Any more advantages.

Gauri: - Oh yes, There are lots. Nevertheless, for now let’s say .We aren’t cheated in love.

Boy:-And why is that?

Gauri:-Most people in India are superstitious even though they may not admit. Therefore, it takes a lot of courage for a boy to deceive his girlfriend who happens to have with a Goddess’s name .Moreover you cannot have filthy emotions for such a girl. Everybody fears the wrath of the gods if you deceit such a girl.

Boy: - Wow what a reason to believe.

Gauri:-Moreover, think how lucky a guy would be who marries such a girl.

Boy:-And why is that?

Gauri:-Do you know what are you supposed to say when you die?

Boy: - Although an absurd question, But I would rather answer that, since you are now talking so many answers. We are supposed to pray while dying, I guess.

Gauri: - Exactly, that’s what I meant. People in old times kept their son’s name on Gods. So that they would call out their names, while dying and thus could go to heaven. Just imagine how many times in life would my boyfriend call my name. So he is destined to go to heaven. Thus, my boyfriend is one in a million.

Boy: - Why 1 in a million?

Gauri: - Because he would go to heaven nah. How many in a million happen to go there. I guess one.

Boy: - So you happen to have one (most girls either don’t have any or have many) boyfriend.

Gauri:-Yes, I do. How about you?

Boy:-Have you been to China?

Gauri:-That isn’t my answer.

Boy:-That isn’t my answer either.

Gauri:-No I have never been to China. Why do you ask that?

Boy:-Just to show that there are other topics to talk.

Gauri: - You are so funny.

Boy:-No, I am not funny. I told you my name to which you did not pay heed. However, you can call me with a nick, which rhymes closely to funny.

Gauri:-And what is that? By the way, what was your name?

Boy:-Honey .That’s the word most girls use when they forget the day and the boyfriend. So a general term suffices for all the boyfriends on various days of the week. In addition, I do not repeat my name. I would tell you at the end of my journey only.

Gauri:-Ok with the name but you seem to have a bad impression about girls.

Boy:-I happen to remember a girl’s quote on men that read, “Men are like jeans, every women has at least seven in their closet amongst which they obviously have one as their favorite.”

Gauri:-I am so sorry you haven’t met the right kind yet.

Boy:-I guess, I have now .But alas you aren’t available. Are you ? Or do you know any of your kind who could be kind enough to send me to heaven .I am ready to enchant her name with every breathe of my life.

Gauri:-You seem to be a pretty decent and good-looking guy, so why haven’t you found one.

Boy:-I guess it’s time you put your spectacles on and have a better look at me .

Gauri: - (Laughs) No I am serious.

Boy:-Demons can’t live in the company of Angels. And that’s why no Demon (girl) has ever wanted me. However as good as Angels are, I have liked many girls even though all of them were one of a kind.

Gauri:-I feel sorry for you.

Boy:-Don’t be! Just grant me wish .You are Gauri – a goddess remember, you can make anything come true.

Gauri:-I wish I was a child because then I believed I could make miracles. But now I am too old to believe that.

Gauri:-When you have the best option then why even look at the better ones.

Boy:-Ok, I too was kidding .Anyways who wants to go to heaven. I just want to reach my destination as fast as possible.

Gauri:-So where are you up to.

Boy:-I can’t tell you that.

Gauri:-Why is that?

Boy:-Because then I would have to ask where are you up to. And if the stop comes before mine, I would get down and follow you. And if the stop comes later, I would be inclined not to descend until your stop and then follow you. So either way I wouldn’t reach my destination. You happen to be so beautiful and desirable. Not my fault .Ask anyone on the bus if they wouldn’t do the same.

Gauri:-Now I know why girls don’t like you?

Boy:-And why is that?

Gauri: -You are such a flirt.

Boy: -Then I guess Mohan Das Karam Chand Gandhi was the biggest flirt that history has ever seen.

Gauri:-What the **** are you saying? He was such a good man.

Boy: -For the obvious reason as mine. If for telling the truth, I can be awarded the title, then
this man never ever lied his entire life (except once).Imagine what would he have said to kasturba when he would have seen her for the first time .Wouldn’t he have said ,”Kasturba, you are the most beautiful girl, I have and would ever see in my life.”And if Kasturba thought your way, they would have never got married.

Gauri: -Oh My God! You are such a ****.

Boy:-Thanks for the compliment. Now you can put back those earphones and loose yourself in the memories of whoever he is. And would you mind lending me that window seat because I know it for sure that I wouldn’t ever enjoy India this beautiful ever again.

Gauri: - All this taking for the seat. You could have just asked for it. I would have left it gladly.

Boy: -Really. Then how would I have known a reason to say to God that I deserve Heaven.
Then, she closed her eyes and was deeply into music. And I sat there admiring her for the rest of the journey. I would certainly never see India so beautiful ever again.

My stop came. She was deep in her sleep and I couldn’t awaken her. How much I regret not asking her email id or the most not telling my name .I just left a paper that read, “There is always a better option, it’s just that people never realize until the offer expires. Hope to meet you again someday. Thanks for being my angel today.”

31^st December 200*, 11:45 P.M, Vijay was all alone on the seashore waiting eagerly for Amrita to arrive. He has never been so desperate before, every moment that passed by made him more anxious. Nevertheless, somewhere in his heart, he knew that she would arrive, she definitely will. She might have been stuck with the New Year preparations or some relatives must have poured in and a thousand such random thoughts came to his mind, so he decides to seek solace in nature around him to distract himself from all the uncertainties coming to his mind, but what he actually finds is melancholy all around him.

The full moon was slumbering deep under the blankets of the dark clouds, as there aren’t many people who come out of their dovecots to appreciate its beauty. The ocean was as restless and tormented as ever trying to push beyond the shores to find someone who could bring happiness and peace into his life. The only sounds that he could hear were the honking of the distant automobiles, his heart and the screams of the sea. He now knew why despite of being fed by the sweet river water, sea was all-saline. The stars did not care much to sparkle in the sky as their faint light wasn't cared much for, in the so lit up cities and the kids weren’t wooed anymore by their twinkling. The cool breeze was desperately blowing towards the sea, pleased to come out of the city’s suffocating environment, which has almost choked it.

He couldn’t take it anymore. He decides to sing and the only songs that come to his lips were “Addicted” and “Rhythm Divine”. Just when his patience was about to run out he sees a distant silhouette approaching towards him. He ran with his arms wide open to feel her heart beat in rhythm to his, see his image in her eyes and start his New Year with the sweetness of her lips. However, his momentary happiness disappeared when she pulled out her hand and greeted him “Happy New Year Vijay”, instead of welcoming him with her ever-charming sweet smile. What’s wrong with you, why are you killing me with your coldness, what did I do lately that you even despise seeing my face? He desperately wanted explanations.

It isn’t your fault neither is mine, its destiny that does us apart. We were, never meant to be together. I wouldn’t regret all those days I spent with you, they would remain the most cherished days in my life, but we together for the rest of life isn’t feasible at all. Vijay you have always said, “Life is all about choices as we get it only once, so we must make our choices right in order not to regret anything on death bed”. Today I have made a choice. I chose to be rich and successful than being happy, because I believe happiness finds a way to the rich and successful. I chose to be adored and desired than being loved, because love would eventually develop. I chose to obey my parents to whom I owe my life than you, who became my life for a while. I chose to be rational than being illogical, because I know that for both of us this would be the best option. Today, you might not like anything that I say, but many years from now if we meet again, I know that you would be happy, that you would find someone who would love you as much as you love me and that you would be satisfied to know that I was happy too all those years. I really do owe you an apology because I know that I have hurt you a lot with my words. However, I know that you would forgive me as you have always done because you love me so much .She leans forward, kisses him, hands over her marriage invitation card and walks away without giving him any opportunity to plead or even utter a word.

All eternity stood still speechless waiting for the boy to react. The moon came out of the clouds to share his grief and the clouds burst into tears, the ocean was overwhelmed to know that, someone else suffered as much as he did and the wind blew harder to show its anguish. Vijay stood still looking at her walk away with a hope that she would turn back, but she never did. A few moments later, she disappeared into the darkness forever. A drop of tear rolled down his cheeks, which washed away in the rain. His, grief was out of bounds for tears and screams.

The elixir of his life had walked out of his life. How was he supposed to live now? She was the only reason for him to be alive. Twenty-three days from now, she would marry money and fame and give herself to a man who has always lusted for her. Will she ever be happy again? Will she ever smile again in all the innocent and care free way? How does all that matter now? Everyone was born with a free will to choose and she had decided not to choose him instead. Who was he now to force her to defer from her free will.

He has never known to swim, but he starts walking towards the sea. He also had the right to free will and he no longer wanted to live anymore. As he sank to the depths of the sea, his thoughts began to resurface. He wasn’t a coward to run away from challenges. He was born good, destined to be the best but it was he only who chose not to grow up better. If money and success were all that mattered in this world, then he too would have it at his disposal. How bad it was to be born with a golden heart and an empty pocket, than to be without a heart and a pocket full of pearls. Besides he couldn’t die proving himself as a loser to the girl he could never hate. He would definitely make her regret her decision on her deathbed if not sooner.

A wave throws him back to the seashore and he sees the sunrise, it was truly amazing. He has been among those who saluted the setting sun for lighting up their lives all day, but from today, he too would salute the rising sun like all others because glory is in rising when no one can meet eyes with you than in setting after being exhausted and consumed.

From now on his life would be entirely different .He had just reincarnated with a different outlook to life. He will be rich, successful and playful if not happy and maybe someday happiness would find a way to him. Why desire and not be desired? Why seek and not be sought? Why cry for someone who turned a back on you? Why die for someone who never lived for you? Why love someone so much when she did not even hate you with half the intensity? . . . . . . . . .The footprints that he left behind him would mark a new beginning to a Happy Ending!

Why do people crave for sexuality into the eyes, when it could be an abode of truth, innocence, serenity; and serve as a gateway to their soul?

Why do people crave for the sweetness of the lips and not the pristine smile which can make life worth living even in hell?

Why do people crave for the soft little mounds and not the feminine heart lying beneath that’s so loving and caring that can relieve pain and sufferings of a million years?

Why do people crave for those 11 minutes between the legs and not a place in her heart for a lifetime?

Why do people lust more and love less?

To me lust is the excitement and thrill of that initial spark of attraction that brings people and the object of their desire together. That's not love, that's survival of the species. Lust is like fire in a piece of paper; it burns our more rapidly than it catches fire, unlike love which is like a nuclear reaction which can keep souls (read as sun) burning for ages.

Why is it that love is like a living, breathing, or a dynamic entity that grows and changes over the years?

Why is it that even if taken granted for and forgotten to nurture ,it doesn’t fade like a photo sitting in the sun too long and can spring back to life anytime we turn back to it?

Why is it love that binds us together once that initial spark runs its course and the god like qualities of our beloved are laid bare and stripped away?

Why is it love that happens when the thrill is gone and all that’s left is the two souls; stark naked, shivering and flawed as all humans are?

To me it’s just because when in love we can put all of our beloved’s weaknesses, faults and shortcomings under the magnifying glass and walk away feeling grateful for having found the one person who completes and compliments us so perfectly that we wouldn't have them any other way.

Why do they take it for granted, when they have found their beloved?

Why don’t they nurture the relationship in the way it deserves?

Why do they make mistakes when they cannot correct them?

Why is it that they say the three most pathetic words –Sorry, Thank you and Please to the entire world who may means nothing to them thousand times a day, instead of saying the three most beautiful words – I ,Love ,You to the one person who may mean more than the world to them ?

Why can not they have wilder and more passionate nights than the one before?

Why can not they fall in love all over again every day with even greater intensity than before?

Why can not they ask her to dance sometimes when she is listening to her favorite song?

Why instead of snoozing the alarm clock they can not you adore their beloved’s face moments before she wakes up?

Why can not they find time to appreciate the small little threads that she wears round her neck and her feet?

Why can not they send her flowers at work and take her out on a date besides the Valentines Day or some anniversary?

Why are occasions necessary to appreciate how beautiful she is with all sorts of flowers when any day and everyday she is as wonderful and as mesmerizing as ever?

Life is beautiful because it is unpredictable, and it should remain the same with relationships. An unpredicted word of appreciation or a gift would be more romantic than a necklace worth millions on the Valentines Day .Why do people need occasions to celebrate when every moment in life is a celebration. Who has left this world alive and who will? Will all the things that they were sorry for; or all the Please and Thank You they said; count on the day they stop breathing? Life is all about choices; make your choices right because you would never get a second chance to rectify it. And what a pathetic life it would be if you regret a thing at deathbed.

Why is it that every time I see your serene face, I couldn’t help falling in love with you over and over again?

Why is it that every time I see those brown eyes, I get addicted and loose myself and never want to resurface again?

Why is it that every time I see you smile, I feel happier and all the pain seems to give way?

Why is it that every time I hear you speak, I feel more entertained than the best music’s?

Why is it that every time I touch you I feel complete?

Why is it that this bloody pump of mine chants your name in every beat?

Why is it that those eyes of mine always see your reflection in anything and everything it perceives?

James and Jessica stood still staring into each others eyes and their faces had traces of sempiternal pain. Maybe a choice was made without the consequences realized. Something horrible has happened, not a nuclear holocaust or economic recession but between them -an indiscretion perhaps or things said without meaning in moments of unqualified rage.

Jessica is standing with one hip against the balcony, glass of wine in one hand, jeans rolled up, barefoot on the cold stone, hair moving lazily in what could almost be called a breeze. She's smoking a cigarette but doesn't really mean it, doesn't need the nicotine; she's smoking because of the habitual remembrance of comfort of before.

James is a few feet away, elbows on the railing, offering a sympathetic apology in the form of a sideways smile. He smokes his cigarette typically, slowly, taking definite drags and exhaling, watching the smoke boil and fade.

They are standing in the balcony of a 16^th Floor building. It has a wrought iron railing, a table bought on the cheap with mismatched chairs and an umbrella that never stands straight. A potted plant in one corner, that hasn't yet started growing for the season.

Absolute silence prevailed in the environment, neither did they nor the plants or the table or the chair or the umbrella dared to break the silence.

Suddenly the silence was shattered. Jessica said, “Three years of courtship and now, two years into marriage, I would have to admit, that I am getting tired of it. The reasons of me loving you before, has now transformed into the cause of all my restlessness. I am a sentimental woman and extremely sensitive when it comes to a relationship and my feeling, I yearn for the romantic moments, like a little girl yearning for candy. You are my complete opposite, your lack of sensitivity, and the ability of bringing romantic moments into our marriage has disheartened me about love. I want a divorce”.

After a prolonged period James could utter only one word "Why?”.

Jessica replied, "I am tired; there are no reasons for everything in the world!"

He kept silent the whole time, seemed to be in deep thought with a lighted cigarette at all times.

Jessica’s feeling of disappointment only increased; here was a man who can't even express his predicament, what else could she hope from him?

And finally he asks her, "What can I do to change your mind?"

He said: "I will give you my answer tomorrow...".And they both went to sleep, although sleep was far away from their eyes.

Jessica’s hopes just sank by listening to his response. She woke up the next morning to find him gone, and saw a piece of paper with his scratchy handwriting, underneath a paper weight, on the dining table near the front door, that goes...

Jessica, "I would not pick that flower for you because I just couldn’t die now.”

The first line was already breaking her heart but she continued reading just to finalize her decision to leave him for ever...

"You have never been accustomed to cleaning a house so I have to save my hand so that we can live in a cleaner environment.

You always forget the house keys behind, so I have to save my legs to rush home to open the door for you.

You always have the cramps whenever guests arrive; I have to save my palms so that I can calm the pain with a gentle massage.

You like to stay indoors, and I worry that you will be infected by infantile autism. I have to save my mouth to tell you jokes and stories to cure your boredom.

You always sit before the television, and that will do nothing good to your eyes, I have to save my eyes so that when we grow old, I can help to clip your nails, and comb your hair; and tell you the color of the flowers as I hold your hand while strolling down the beach as we enjoy the sunshine and the beautiful sand.

Thus, dear Jessica, unless I am sure that there is someone who loves you more than I do... I could not pick that flower yet and die.

I never discovered a reason why I loved you, so how can I discover reasons to hate you. I have always loved you even if I never said it. It was just that I cared too much for our future which seems to have ruined our present. I promise that from now you will never have a single reason to abandon me in the midst because it is obviously I who need you the most.

Jessica’s tears fell on the letter, and blurred the ink of his handwriting..."Now that you have finished reading my answer, if you are satisfied, please open the front door for I am standing outside bringing your favorite bread and fresh milk and vegetables that I have to cook for us before I leave for office since you like my recepies more.

Jessica rushed to pull open the door, and saw his anxious face, the milk bottle, loaf of bread and vegetables...

Was it a Monday or a Tuesday morning? . . . . . . . .

Hell ya it was a Monday morning .Had I been a painter ,I could have painted the entire episode which just happen to play before my eyes like a dream ,but since I am a writer let me just create a scene for you guys so that you can unleash your imaginations .

I happen to have been gifted with the best friends one could find on the entire planet and that’s why I couldn't deny them even with my life .But when it comes to leaving my beloved computer for something as trivial as rigorous exercise , I would definitely like to make an exception .Every day I save my ass with petty excuses like ," I haven't had breakfast , lunch and even my evening snacks for the past two days" or sometimes ,”I have a severe back pain ,could you get me a pain killer please” or " Dude its Friday and on Sunday the gym is closed ,so let me start from Monday ".

One wretched Monday morning, I was on a balanced diet regime planned by our super loaded Hero (Nithin A.K.A Tintin) with all his six pack abs and perfectly chiseled body to which I couldn't deny anymore .So when the evening came, I wasn't left with a single excuse to make. Finally I told my sweetheart lappy not to worry, that I will be fine and I will definitely return back totally in one piece for she was the second love of my life without which I couldn't survive.

So here I was outside the picturesque sports complex to which I had bid farewell on my last P&T games day, accompanied by three friends just to ensure I didn't run away to devour pizzas and get a hold on my favorite fruity instead of sweating like a pig .We went early just to save me from the embarrassment of the sight of those smelly rock golems.

"Things have changed Victor”, I said."What did you just say, like what has changed”, he inquired. You never told me that they entertained pretty cheerleaders after I left coming to the S.C. Oh gosh!!! Grow up dude this is B.I.T, these girls are here for practicing as the badminton tournament are up the corner. Now I know why you are so passionate about badminton, I don't blame you though, I too would have been if you could have informed me a bit earlier.

Victor, as evident it could be, went to the badminton court and my third friend who prefers to remain anonymous went for the volleyball practice , Nithin went to his rigorous training while I being a beginner was signed off to run a mere of 8 rounds around the track to warn up .

As lucky as I am, I have earned the trust of my friends so I was left alone to perform the simple task without being watched.

So I started my patrol around the S.C to find something interesting which would make my day. Soon enough I found a girl who has intrigued me for sometime. I started strolling behind her.

She was wearing a black capri , a dark blue & white striped top which teasingly offered the sight of her beautiful slender waxed legs and arms, very light orange canvas shoes with white socks and her hair was neatly tied .

I don't remember how many rounds I ran, but what I remember is that I was summoned soon by Nithin who was kind enough to let me off for the day as he thought eight sincere rounds were sufficient for the first day. So he engulfed himself into his routine and I set out again to stalk the lady in the black Capri.

To my dismay, she was to be seen no where .Had she left for her hostel, did she go practicing, or had something happened to her, so many questions flashed my mind. As it was getting dark and the visibility had considerable reduced ,I decided to walk to the other side just in case I saw her or else there was always an another day.

To my surprise I found her. She was sitting on the ground, maybe she was taking rest. She tried to speak but wasn't able to .As I went closer I could see tears rolling down her pretty cheeks. What in this world could have happened to this girl who was jogging a moment ago to sit and cry? I inquired if she was ok and if she needed help. She said that she had stumbled upon and had badly hurt her leg and that she wasn't able to get up.

I was struck by the hypnotism in her voice .I undid her shoes and socks as gently as I could. The swelling was bad .I told her to have patience and that I would get her a pain relief spray. I ran to the office and explaining the situation was given a crepe bandage and a spray .I hurried back to the girl, applied the provided relief spray and wrapped that lucky bandage around her ankle.

I sat beside her without uttering a word more because I wanted to adore her beautiful eyes and less because she wouldn't be able to talk much in pain. It was then that I noticed that she had let her hair loose. They were as black as night, as dense as the rain forests, looked as soft as silk and smelled like eternity by L’Oreal. And the black ear rings that she wore looked amazingly cute. Had it been a Hindi movie, I would be singing a song near the pyramids entertaining the mummies, but soon my gaze was broken as she uttered those three words instead of two. Just when I was expecting she would say "Thank you" and leave, she said "My name's Magic". Well I wasn't expecting that, so I replied back,"and I am Magician". She laughed to my great relief and it appeared that the pain had subsided and she was enjoying my company. We talked for sometime and as it was getting darker she tried to stand on her own in vain. Least willing, I offered her to arrange for an ambulance to drop her to the hostel to which she denied. Instead she asked me to accompany her if I wasn’t uncomfortable with it. You see the magic had engulfed the magician and he couldn’t deny, not because he wanted to help but because every moment with her brought him unspoken happiness. Moreover his lappy could wait a little longer and it wouldn’t feel jealous until he wrote about the Magic he felt into her secondary memory.

If I could rewind time.

On the very auspicious day of joy and colors -Holi, I find my self confined with remorse and the only evident colors in my
life are black and white. I have lost my ability to act both as a prism, which disperse colors into others life, and as a star
(which acts as a black body) which can emit colors of all wavelengths. This alone is a reason enough for me to scribble some
more crap.

I have been up all night which wouldn't surprise most people who know me .But last night I wasn't playing games ,I had my
speakers roaring to their maximum capacities because I was trying to loose myself in all the noise I could generate .
I had always believed that music can be the best remedy for the broken heart. But
alas it doesn't work beyond a certain point. Most of the inhabitants are off to their homes, others in search of bliss to forbidden places
,so I feel lonely with just two friends left in a prodigious hostel.

It was the day of Diwali and all the light around me wasn't enough to lighten my mood. My mother just got operated, my father
was sick and my sister burned down her entire poetry, the reason for which she would not tell. I had my issues too, I was
horribly missing someone and was in a terrible state of mind.

The next day has found its place in one of the days I will never forget. After a tormenting night, I was asked by Dj & Vj for
a fun trip to Ranchi. I was reluctant to make excuses but then another good friend of mine, Ammar came up with some work so
finally we were all set for Ranchi.

All of the Murphy's law seemed to have been formulated for me on that day except the fact that it didn't apply exactly in
the same order.
The third law states that "If anything just cannot go wrong, it will anyway”. With five hilarious guys things did go wrong
although it was least expected.
Now comes the fifth law, “Left to themselves things go from bad to worse". That's what happened to my mood.
With a heavy heart I returned to my room just to discover the certainty of Murphy's second law “If there is more than one
thing to go wrong than the one that will cause the maximum damage will go wrong”. My two other good friends
"Harry “and "Paul “dropped drunk in my room. With me and Dj in the room what more could those slimy creatures have wished for, to
make fun of and entertain themselves.
Finally the sixth law, “The hidden flaw never stays hidden for long”, became all evident.

I have no problem taking jokes on me, but there is a limit to everything and when you are already filled up to the brim you
tend to overflow. So did I ,I asked them to leave my room to which they did not pay any heed. So the next time I demanded to be
left alone which they took as dishonor and humiliation on their part. And as Harry is a trader in the truest sense he decided
to repay in the same manner. I was summoned to their rooms and handed over everything that belonged to me and asked to fuck off
from their room with every kind of abuses. As if this wasn't enough, I was again abused in my lobby and they took a trip to
many other rooms to demonstrate their expertise with all the wrong words.

I really got upset with all this, not because I was being treated like that but because it was my behavior that hurt them so
bad that the guy I was friends with, from my first days in B.I.T was humiliating me in such a way. And the worst was to
follow; I was blamed for everything wrong in their life. I was held responsible for their fucked up academics. well I don't see any drastic improvement now when I am not a part of their life.

The only reason I am writing all this is because I have promised my mom an apology to them, because she thinks the fault must
lie in me considering the little information I provided her with.

So if I could rewind time, I would rewind it to the point when they came in to my room. I would allow them to make fun of me
and Dj in as many ways as they can .I would buy them chips and more alcohol, play their favorite music and probably dance
for them if that would be entertaining to them, because I really miss the joy in my life that they brought. I really miss those
days when we gathered in a room and talked about all kinds of games, played as a team so strong that was almost
invincible, times when we watched movies together and enjoyed music, times when I was sick and they tenderly took care of
me, times when I am in a restaurant because it was always he who used to order for me, times when everybody gathered in my room
and we used to dine together and much more.

But then I wouldn't have known what trample damage they assumed I brought into their lives and how worthy they were. I
wouldn't have known their vocabulary of assaulting words. I wouldn't have known their respect for my parents and I wouldn't
have forgiven myself for losing the one thing I was born with - dignity. I was born naked but with inherent nobility and worth
and on that occasion although I wouldn't have been stripped off my clothes, I definitely would have been stripped off my
dignity.

So if I could rewind time, I would be on the first day in B.I.T and I would have preferred not befriending him in the first
place. And subsequently I wouldn't be writing this entry, I wouldn't be feeling guilty and I would absolutely be surrounded
with better friends as I am now.

P.S:-The names are morphed just because I care and they are worth more but just not my friendship.

Fatal Attraction.

This entry is dedicated to the most charismatic girl in this world who can smile in a million ways and more to make my day.

One day when the sun, being weary of his daily routine decided not to show up in the sky and take a day off, winter perceived this opportunity and was inclined to descend his wrath upon the wretched humans and the almighty fog had announced his dictatorship on the city. Birds decided to stay put in their nests and the bustling city was never quieter . . . On one such day I was out in the cold enjoying the beauty of nature which I had been missing since I left the mountains.

In spite of having a vacation ,I decided to stay because that could have been my last chance to witness "Dilli ki sardi".The best thing about being a student in Delhi are the DTC passes which makes travelling in Delhi so very convenient and cheap. I took a bus to South-Ex and headed towards Ansal.I rarely drink coffee, but the chilling weather and my inability to spot any active life form around the 3 meter visibility that I had, drove my feet towards a restaurant which used to make incredible coffee (During my recent visit I found it missing).I got my self seated near a window seat and ordered what ever I wanted and started looking around for someone familiar because dining alone is the worst thing to do on a winter evening.

Of the very few people in that restaurant my eyes got anchored on a girl clad in a yellow hooded jacket, a black jeans and a purple top eating burgers like a child who has been starving for quite a few days. I could apprehend the lavaliere around her neck and the Tom and Jerry bracelet on her right hand and the appealing lip gloss on her lips but I wasn't able to get a glimpse of her adorable face which aroused immense curiosity in me. I rarely call upon God but at that moment every beat of my heart pleaded for a glance of that mysterious girl. And as kind as God is, I saw Richa walking out of the washroom and rambling towards me with a smile. Something inside me told me that she was my angel for the day and she definitely was. She told me that she was accompanied by her friend and since I being alone was offered an opportunity to join them provided I paid the bill. What more in this world could I have asked for on that day.

We walked over to the other table and we were introduced .She looked up stretching her right hand for me to hold while removing the hood with the left and said "hello”. That was the most staggering moment of my life. I was looking into the most fascinating face, listening to the sweetest Hello and was holding the most velutinous hand in my entire life. My heart skipped a beat, my eyes forgot to wink and how much I wished if time could have been my ally who would have frozen that moment for me till eternity but every wish are not meant to be fulfilled for the greater good.

There are times in your life which change you for ever.11th December 2004 was one such day .The sunsets in my life would never be the same again ,my heart wouldn't beat without a name ,my eyes wouldn't be without an image ,my medulla oblongata will never be idle and every breathe wouldn't be without benediction after that day.

The six hours of time with her were more pleasurable and memorable than my entire days on earth. Every time I meet her I fall in love all over again even though I try hard not to.

Although I feel literally exhausted in expounding her, here is an attempt to elucidate her to the zillionth of what actually she is . . .. . . .

She has a maiden name so divine that the gates of heaven would definitely be opened for me .She is more beautiful than the sunsets besides Taj Mahal, when all you can wish is to capture every passing moment in your heart and never let go the setting sun and once the sun sets you anxiously wait till the dawn to see the sun rise all over again in all its glory. She is more desirable than being a billionaire. You can do anything and everything even beyond your capacity to have her besides you at the end of the day. And if she happens to stand by you in all times good or bad you wouldn't want anything else from this life.

She is more innocent than a lamb or a dove and her smile can disarm legions. She is more humorous than a clown's nose and every time she smiles even the gloomiest of creature wouldn't hold his laugh. She is more altruistic than a flower always ready to bring smiles on other faces even if it means being plucked. She is livelier than a firefly, ever ready to consume herself to ease and enlighten someone else's path in the dark. She is fairer than Snow White and her lips sweeter than saccharides.She is more romantic than a red rose, and her company so infectious that a million years would pass in the blink of an eye.Her brown eyes is wilder than those of a tigress and her aroma is better than the best perfumes.

She is more honest than a young child and more fun to be with than a merry-go-round. God has filled her with more shades than He probably would have in any butterfly. She’s more than an angel descended from the heavens only for me, she’s my soul, my love and my life. I couldn't think about surviving a single moment without her.

This is an abstract of a long sentimental chat in which Nithin described you, except the part when I met you. This being my blog I should be involved in some way and I hope neither you nor Nithin should mind me writing this the way I did.

I remember reading a poem once which intrigued me so much that it got imprinted on my memory. I take this opportunity to recite it again.

One bright day, in the middle of the night;

Two dead boys got up to fight;

Back to back they faced each other;

Drew their swords and shot each other;

Came and shot the two dead boys;

Ask the blind man he saw it too.

I have a lot of memories about Delhi ,memories that I will never forget ,memories which make my heart bleed and lips laugh at the same time .Delhi has changed my life in a lot more ways than people who know me ever realize. And one such day, the 14th of February, I am destined to

set my foot again on the political capital of India.

There are very few days in a year when I do see the sun rise and 14th was one of them .The red morning sun never had looked better, the chilled morning breeze was totally mesmerizing and the chirping of birds sounded better than the much hyped "Jai Ho". Nature has its own ways to manifest things and it doesn't do it quietly, it indicates everything through omens and signs .Everything about that morning was an indication that my day was going to be one memorable day given that I was in one of the most romantic cities on one hell of a romantic day .

It wasn't early in the day when I hit the grounds, but since the first rays of the sun shone upon me, old memories kept pouring in .Still deeply engrossed in my thoughts I was informed that the train had reached its destination. I took a bus, met one of my dear friends and headed towards home where my brother was supposed to get married the next day.

All the omens and signs from the morning seemed illusive and as I was covering my distance I couldn't help getting a bit depressed at the sight of the lovely couples walking the city. With a heavy heart I reached home and to my surprise I saw my sister with a sweet friend of hers .We were introduced and so I came to know that she was from JMC ,one of the hottest colleges in Delhi which instantly increased my curiosity in her. I told her that, I was there for a reason but what was she doing there on V-day.”JMC being a girls college I couldn't find a date or maybe its your lucky day”, she replied. She asked if I was willing to see the city with her as she had no other work for the rest of the day .Now who would deny such an offer when one has actually nothing to do and so I readily agreed to the offer asking for an hour to freshen up.

In the evening when the sun has set and the city was all lively and lit up, I was with this girl in her red car .Not knowing how to drive can be a bliss sometimes when all you can do is sit and stare at the driver provided she is pretty and interesting. Traffic never felt as good in DTC busses as it did that day. She took me too many places and we talked about a lot of things. I generally don't make friends that easily but was it the effect of the place or the day or was her charisma too infectious that we were having a good time together.

She dropped me back to the hotel where as expected my brother along with his friends was waiting for me with everything required to feel light and lively. I joined then but being a beginner was allowed to leave the party at will, so when I thought I had, had enough I headed towards my room. I don't know when I fell asleep and when I started dreaming. But the dream was really splendid. I felt something creeping into my blanket over me which was a bit heavy .I felt my shirt being unbuttoned and I being osculated, oh what a dream I was having. Suddenly I felt my vests ripped apart and parts of my body aching in pain and stiffening .I wasn't willing to open my eyes lest the dream should go but what if it wasn't a dream .I slowly opened my eyes to discover the girl I was with since evening so close to me, at an inch distance and more importantly all open for me. I wasn't in a mental state to judge the situation and I decided to flow with the river.

I could barely remember the details of the next few moments but after a prolonged period of rhythmic quivering we finally laid side by side looking into each other eyes for the answer to the one unasked question that has tormented mankind since eternity. We talked over sweet nothings with my hand still finding a way out of the wet marsh long enough for the sun to rise again .As the first rays of the sun fell on us through the window, I decided to do my experiments with the slit and slowly slided under the blanket .

While I was still busy with my Fresnel and Fraunhover experiments, I felt a gush of water hitting hard on my face which seemed to have been coming from the curvaceous cascades of the Ganges valley. I was amused at first but the sprinkle was hard enough to keep dreaming and my eyes finally opened to find my sister trying hard to wake me up .On seeing my puzzled face she left me with an advice ,"Dear bro ,always lock your room or else you never know . . . . . . ."

I did see that girl the same day but we were like strangers, neither of us did utter a word .Late evening I saw her in her red car with someone sitting on the front seat to take a joy ride around Delhi. Meanwhile I attended the wedding and returned lonely to my room and I made sure that I did lock the room from inside.
